tranquility is deceiving--
a finite state of bliss
while the beast of rage lies
dormant
awaiting arisal,
a return ever worse than before.
sobriety saves the soul
but kills the music,
sacrificing art for sanity.
and yet, all praise these vampyric chemicals
draining our humanity.
